Kershaw Scholarship
Rod Kershaw (ASM) Scholarship:
Do you like traveling and research? Are you interested in exploring different ways of improving systems for pre-hospital care delivery in SA and nationally? Are you a financial member of ACAP and a SAAS staff member?
Then the Rod Kershaw (ASM) Scholarship is for you!
Co-sponsored by ACAP SA and SAAS, this pre-hospital scholarship provides the opportunity, through the provision of financial support, for SAAS staff who are full financial ACAP members to research a process or system currently being used in another organisation anywhere in the world for the ultimate benefit of the pre-hospital profession and SA Ambulance Service.
This scholarship intends to empower staff to bring innovative ways of working back to ACAP and SAAS to share and potentially implement.
For more information and details about the application process, please see contact Jacinta Angley via email (jacinta.angley@acap.sa.org.au) or 0417 831 756.
Did you know:
In 2010, Chris Cotton was awarded the scholarship. He will travel to the USA to gain information about latest treatments, procedures and research. Congratulations Chris!
In 2009, Jacinta Angley was selected for the scholarship and traveled to the USA to examine improved cardiac arrest outcomes in local emergency medical systems.
In 2008, Rob Snell used a similar opportunity to travel to Sweden to learn more about the way their ambulance service used a version of EmergoTrain to prepare and train crews. Rob has done a significant amount of work on the version he researched in Sweden, turning it into the comprehensive training package SAAS uses today.
