ACAP Membership

Nationally ACAP has restructured it membership levels and reviewed its membership criteria. This means that everyone with an interest or involvement in pre-hospital care can now join ACAP at an appropriate level. ACAP membership is open to all those who work in the pre-hospital care field. This can include:

  • Professional Ambulance Officers

  • Honorary Ambulance Officers

  • Members of the Armed Services who have an involvement in pre-hospital care (including medics, nurses, doctors etc)

  • Members of St John Ambulance

  • Member of Surf Life Saving Australia

  • Other people with an involvement in pre-hospital care.

Once a member you have a varied range of opportunities opened to you. These include:

  • Networking with professionals, who treat patients every day

  • Availability to undertake professional development at member rates (CEP)

  • Links with other Australian Colleges and access to their courses (partnerships)

  • Response magazine

  • Discounted ACAP merchandise

  • A diary each year

ACAP Publications

Response

ACAP publishes Response magazine. A quarterly journal which contains up to date news of the ACAP world, current events, conference details and articles of interest to the pre-hospital professional. ACAP (NSW) encourages it members to submit articles of interest to the magazine. If you have an article which you think may be suitable please contact the editor, Margaret Bertling at editor@acap.org.au.

eJEPHC

Nationally ACAP has also recently launched the exciting 'eJournal of Emergency Primary Health Care' (JEPHC), a peer reviewed e-journal available internationally via the internet. The aim of the JEPHC is to advance and promote the science and the art of pre-hospital care research, education, clinical practice, policy and service delivery, and to provide a forum to respond to the professional interests of the multidisciplinary emergency primary health care community.
