National Conference

The National ACAP conference for 2008 will be held from 4-6 September 2008 Melbourne, Victoria. The Conference will bring together practitioners in pre-hospital and emergency care at all levels from government and non-government spheres.  It aims to showcase the latest research, technology and thinking in pre-hospital and emergency care from Australia and around the world. Continuing Education Evening Sessions

The sessions will cover a diverse range of issues and should be of interest to a broad range of the industry. [Click on date to view A4 poster]

23 September 2008                  Crime Scenes and Case Sheets                                                  Angela Williams (Forensic Physician)

Next session details – Angela Williams is a Forensic Physician and will be discussing the tolls and tricks that Paramedics may find valuable in navigating crime scenes and how to avoid some common pitfalls with clinical documentation.

Session format: Presentation will last for approximately 90mins followed by questions from the floor, a light supper will be provided. This session may run overtime based around questions and interest. Additional sessions may be conducted should sufficient interest be indicated. All enquiries regarding additional sessions should be directed to the bookings office.

This session will be held at the Ambulance Victoria (Metropolitan) Training Facility, 75 Brady Street, Port Melbourne from 1930 till approximately 2130.

The above sessions are open to members and non-members. Numbers for each session are limited and bookings must be made. Members $Free and Non-members $11. Price includes venue, a light supper and GST. To book, email your details to the bookings office only

 

Rural Opportunities

Television / Teleconference / Webstreaming

The Rural Health Education Foundation (RHEF), is one of Australia's top providers of satellite television Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development programs for doctors, pharmacists, nurses and other health professionals.

Since 1992 they've broadcast hundreds of interactive programs covering a wide spectrum of health education issues - all designed specifically for rural and remote health practitioners.

Viewing RHEF programs

See the broadcast timetable for details of upcoming satellite broadcasts. These broadcasts can be viewed at our approximately 550 viewing sites around Australia. Most of the recent programs are also available to view through online video streaming. A PDF list of the Victoria viewing sites is available here.

Accreditation and evaluation

Rural Health Education Foundation-produced programs are accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) and the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) for professional development and continuing medical education.
