Partnerships
ACAP (Victoria) has been progressively strengthening ties with
allied organisations. Networking with these organisations provides
synergies and tangible benefits to ACAP (Victoria) members.
ACAP (Victoria) has a close association with the ambulance services
in Victoria. The associations between the
Metropolitan Ambulance Service and
Rural Ambulance Victoria are highly valued by the
College.
These partnerships mean that
all ACAP members can benefit and access their regular professional
development opportunities.

Educational
Support Funding
The College in Victoria sets aside an
amount of money annually which is
available to the membership for the
funding and support of educational
activities. Various amounts are
available depending upon the activity
being undertaken. ACAP (Victoria) also
provides on an adhoc basis additional
funding for specific events which is
always in addition to this annual
allocation.
We are pleased to announce our
provision of three (3) full
registrations to the Australian College
of Ambulance Professionals national
conference in September 2008. These will
be drawn from the members who attend any
of the ACAP (Victoria) educational
activities between 1st October 2007 and
30th July 2008.
The College has allocated a
considerable amount of money for
sponsorship (part or full is dependent
upon the number of applications) of ACAP
members attendance at the 2008 National
Conference in Melbourne. Expressions of
interest should be made by submitting an
application to the
Secretary by email or using the
application form.
Applications for the ACAP 2008
conference close on 4th August 2008.
There is also funding available for
members who would prefer a direct
application. There are many excellent
meetings occurring in Australia this
year and members may like to consider an
applications for any suitable event.

Annual General Meeting
- 2008
The Annual General of
the Australian College of Ambulance
Professionals, Victorian Branch will be
held on Thursday 21 August 2008 at the
Metropole Hotel, 44 Brunswick Street,
Fitzroy commencing at 1830 hrs. The AGM
will feature the formal business of the
College as required by the
Incorporations regulations and also a
presentation by the members sponsored to
attend the EMS Today Conference in
Baltimore, USA earlier this year.
There are significant
changes to the structure of the College
being developed nationally. These will
be outlined at the meeting and it is
expected that an extra-ordinary general
meeting will be called prior to the end
of 2008 to make the necessary changes to
the Incorporation within Victoria as
this move to National integration
progresses.

Corporate Rate for members
ACAP Victoria has made arrangements with
QANTAS to provide QANTAS Club Corporate
Membership rates for ACAP members. This
service is available to all members and
is not limited to ACAP members from
Victoria.
QANTAS Club affords members a range of
benefits including: access to the QANTAS
Club lounges at over 250 locations
world-wide, refreshment and shower
facilities, invitations for quests to
lounges, Frequent Flier Membership, On
Departure Upgrades, Dedicated Check-In
lanes, Priority Reservations and Wait

Each member is responsible for their own
payments and will be invoiced directly
by QANTAS for the fees associated with

ACAP Publications
RESPONSE is the lifestyle and social communication of the College and
is distributed by mail to all financial members on a quarterly basis.
Members are encouraged to submit content for this magazine and further
information is available from the editor. Review the current header
page and contents list by following this
link or email Amy Cotton the editor. If you are not
receiving your copy of RESPONSE contact the
Secretary.
Nationally ACAP has launched the
Journal of Emergency Primary Health Care, a peer reviewed e-Journal available internationally via the internet.
The aim of JEPHC is to advance and promote the science and the art of
pre-hospital care research, education, clinical practice, policy and
service delivery, and to provide a forum to respond to the
professional interests of the multidisciplinary community that is
emergency primary health care.

instruments, stethoscopes, etc.

This facility provides for the supply
of text books with discounts for members of the College, along with a
wide array of bags, drink bottle, pouches, stethoscopes, etc. |

ACAP Membership
Nationally ACAP has restructured it
membership levels and reviewed its membership criteria. This means
that everyone with an interest or involvement in pre-hospital care can
now join ACAP at an appropriate level. ACAP membership is open to all
those who work in the pre-hospital care field. This includes:

Ambulance Paramedics
-
Ambulance Community Officers
-
Members of the Armed Services who have an
involvement in pre-hospital care -
Members of private pre-hospital care or transport
providers -
Students of tertiary education providers
(full-time pre-employment students receive discount rate) -
Members of volunteer pre-hospital care providers
(ie: St John Ambulance, Red Cross, etc)
