Professional Development Seminars

ACAP WA holds regular seminars and workshops on current trends, skills and hot topics in the pre-hospital care field.

Seminars are open to any persons with an interest in the pre-hospital care field; including volunteers, mine site/off shore medical staff, other allied health professionals and career ambulance staff. These seminars are either free or heavily subsidised for ACAP members while non-members can attend for a small fee to cover costs.

COMBAT MEDIC
 


ACAP WA is proud to present Bill Cowan.  Bill has been an instructor for the US Army's 'Combat Medic' program and is and active BLS, ACLS, PALS and ITLS instructor.  Bill currently works as a Paramedic providing convoy medical support and operating a small field clinic at a remote site in eastern Afghanistan.

Bill will present an informative seminar relating his experiences in the pre-hospital setting and looking at new pre-hospital technology developed by the military.

PRE-HOSPITAL TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT
(PHTLS)

 

 

The PHTLS is a unique two day multi-disciplinary continuing education program designed to enhance and increase knowledge and skill in delivering critical care in front line pre-hospital trauma care and the handling of trauma patients.

Persons who successfully register for this course will be sent pre-reading materials and study which must be completed prior to the course.

Saturday and Sunday, 27 and 28 September 2008 (2 days)

Tuesday and Wednesday, 30 September and 1 October 2008 (2 days)

Edith Cowan University (Joondalup Campus)

Not-For-Profit Organisation*:  $550.00
Other Organisations/Individuals:  $750.00
