Professional Development Subsidies
 

What is the Professional Development Subsidy?
The Professional Development Subsidy is an initiative from ACAP Western Australia, whereby financial members can apply to have their attendance at seminars, workshops or other educational/professional development activities subsidised by ACAP Western Australia.

The programs' aim is to encourage that professional development and continuing education of pre-hospital care clinicians, at any level, by financially assisting their attendance at development activities relating to the pre-hospital care field.

The subsidy is available by application, with each application judged on its merits based upon the relevance of the activity to pre-hospital care. 

What is the value of the subsidy?
As an incentive for financial members to attend professional development opportunities, ACAP Western Australia offers its subsidies based on the following criteria:

  1. Any financial member* (to a maximum of 10 financial members for any one activity) to the value of 50% of the cost of the activity, capped at a maximum of $200 per financial member

  2. Applications where the value of the subsidy requested is greater that $200 will be assessed on a case by case basis

How do I apply?
For an activity where the subsidy request is not more than $200:
  1. Contact the Professional Development Coordinator to advise you would like to attend and activity for which you will be requesting a subsidy from ACAP Western Australia
  2. Once you have been advised that you have been successful, register for the activity and pay the registration fee in full
  3. Send a copy of your Tax Invoice (as proof of payment - credit card slips and bank statements are not accepted) along with a completed Reimbursement Application Form to ACAP WA, PO Box 335, Belmont WA 6984 or submit via email.
  4. Once the tax invoice and application form are received, out Treasurer will reimburse the subsidized amount.
For an activity where the subsidy request is more than $200:
  1. Complete the Reimbursement Application Form and send to the Professional Development Coordinator.  You may like to provide additional information on the benefits of the activity and the anticipated benefits

  2. Applications will be considered on an individual basis by the ACAP Western Australia Committee

  3. The Committee meets monthly so you will need to allow sufficient time for you application to be received and a decision made (as a guide a minium of two months notice is suggested).
