1.2.2 Advanced Heterocontacts

Activities planned for 2023 and beyond include

• Work with industry to use the state-of-the-art film deposition capabilities consisting of virtual cluster tools (ALD, PECVD, thermal and electron beam evaporation, and specialised low damage sputter deposition) to fine-tune each material layer, as well as the combination of materials, to form novel hetero structures tuned for SiPV.

• Work with industry to further explore and develop novel heterocontacts, in developing front and back contact, IBC and tandem devices employing such technologies.
