University of Melbourne installs world-leading, ultrafast laser spectroscopy laboratory equipment

An ACAP team at the University of Melbourne, lead by Prof. Trevor Smith, are thrilled to have overseen the installation of brand new photovoltaic research laboratory equipment, bringing ultrafast laser spectroscopy capabilities to Australian researchers which previously were only available at a limited number of locations in labs overseas.

The new infrastructure, funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), will provide unique capabilities for Australian solar researchers, who will be working with its high pulse repetition rate, high pulse energy ultrafast laser amplifier and dual optical parametric amplifiers with frequency doubling units, in a comprehensive facility for ultrafast laser spectroscopy of photovoltaic materials.

The team welcomes collaboration enquires over email.
